How to purchase a piece from the studio

When you find the piece, or pieces, you are interested in, please simply click on the ‘Enquire’ button. Once we receive your request we will be pleased to provide additional detail on the selected work or works, discuss price, payment and delivery options.

Payment can only be made via a bank transfer, or a card payment through our online payment system. We cannot accept card payments over the telephone. The Studio will dispatch your piece to you as soon as funds are cleared.

Payment & Delivery

Hownam Studio deliver world wide and delivery is charged at cost to our Clients. The safe delivery of our goods is of the utmost importance to us, each piece is unique. We personally wrap each item extremely carefully to ensure that your purchase arrives in mint condition.

We will work with you to select the best courier service based on your needs, schedule and requirements. Ensuring both the safety and security of your work. The bespoke nature of the delivery process takes account of your location. Our unique and high value work will require ‘white glove’ shipping. This is a dedicated method, individually packaged, handled and insured service. Our partners in this area specialise in art works and are available twenty four hours a day to speak to Clients and provide up to date tracking information for you.

All our work requires a signature on arrival, ensuring safety, efficiency and security.

Once the form of delivery and insurance cover are agreed, we will provide you with a full quotation for your acceptance. After which, once payment has been made in full, we will be able confirm the delivery date for your piece. We will only dispatch the piece once all funds have cleared.

All of our transactions and delivery costs are in British Pounds. Payment can only be made via a bank transfer, or a card payment via Paypal. We cannot accept card payments over the telephone. Insurance can be added at cost based on your specific requirements.

How to care for your piece

Most of our works, sculptures and furniture are made from wood. The wood will absorb and release moisture (slightly expanding and contracting in response to moisture in the air).

To care for your wooden sculpture, or furniture, ensure:

  • That furniture and sculpture is kept in a low moisture environment, and if in a particularly dry environment, make sure humidity is around the 40 – 45%RH level, and no direct sunlight.
  • Place furniture and sculpture away from radiators, fireplaces, and vents.
  • Protect the wooden sculpture, or furniture, from direct sunlight. Light can dull the appearance of the piece, especially if it is dyed or coloured. Keep the piece in an area with low amounts of direct natural light. Direct heat from sunlight radiation or vents will cause wood to dry and shrink.
  • Prevent handling and touching of the sculpture as much as possible, oils from the skin can accumulate on the wood and affect it’s appearance.
  • Dust your sculpture regularly, dry dust with a soft, multi-tendrilled duster or soft dry cloth. Never use a damp cloth or cleaning agent.
